Ian a dedicated police officer with 25 years on the job, knows cops are exposed to enough risk every day they go to work. Without hesitation cops accept the inherent risks associated with responding to calls for service, because that’s what the job is. What’s almost always overlooked however, is the unnecessary exposure to liability when tasked with managing administrative duties like handling payments for permits, licenses, or anything else that falls under the purview of the police department - even in the record bureau.
Together, they saw an opportunity to create something transformative for police departments everywhere.

Ian spent his entire career in uniform, almost entirely in the patrol division, garnering hands-on experience in the high stakes environment of public safety. The completion of additional specialized training throughout the years further shaped his understanding of the intricacies of police work and highlighted the need for accurate, efficient administrative processes beyond spreadsheets that are usable where it’s needed and matters most- the officer on the road 24/7.
With his extensive field experience, Ian saw that while the principles of police work remain the same, the methods vary widely. ‘This is just how we do it’ was never a real solution, and his drive to improve these processes led to the creation of PDLinx—a mission-driven platform designed to connect citizens with their police departments, streamline workflows, and bring everything into one place with purpose-built technology.
Mike Liberant, co-founder of PDLinx, is a hands-on technology leader and architect with over 20 years of experience, bridging Fortune 500 companies and fast-paced startups.
Known for aligning business needs with technical solutions, Mike has led product development teams at large enterprises and startups. With a history of integrating technical acquisitions and cloud migrations by scaling high-performing tech teams he brings extensive experience in driving value through innovation and collaboration. His vast network of engineers, web designers, and subject matter experts further amplifies PDLinx's commitment to delivering authentic, practical solutions for police departments—guided by the firsthand field insights of his co-founder, a veteran officer.
